The 4 best bike apps for your next bike tour

More and more people are switching from cars to bikes, whether to get fitter or to live more sustainably. So that you don’t have to do without your usual sat nav when cycling, we have picked out a few apps to help you on your next bike tour.
Komoot – the best-known app
The Komoot app provides you with a comprehensive tour planner, offline navigation, voice output and offline maps. The basic version is free of charge, the worldwide offline maps are available for a one-off fee of €30, for individual regions you pay a one-off fee of €6.99 per map. You also receive tour suggestions from other users and can plan your own tours on your PC, which are then automatically synchronized with the app. The Komoot app is available for iOS and Android.
Naviki – the bike app for various bikes
Go on a bike tour in summer.
Naviki works in a similar way to Kamoot, using voice navigation to give you directions during the tour. To save the maps offline so that you don’t have to rely on an internet connection while on the move, you have to purchase them for €4.79. The navigation function is available for €3.79.
The cool thing about this app is that you can select special routes for mountain bikes or racing bikes. This could be just the thing for passionate cyclists. The app is available for iOS and Android.
Runtastic – known from running
Joggers will already be familiar with the Runtastic app, which has now been enhanced with two new apps: Runtastic Mountain Bike and Runtastic Run Bike. Both apps can be expanded with hardware, e.g. with a heart rate monitor or a speed or cadence sensor. The premium subscriptions cost between €4.15 and €6.63 per month. Both apps are available for iOS and Android users.
Cyclique – the community for like-minded people
This app should be of interest to our SMARTments business guests, as their work means they often move around and don’t know people in every city. But this could change with Cyclique, where cyclists can register for bike tours or find a buddy for such a tour. Whether e-bike or mountain bike: you leave the most important data in your profile so that like-minded people can contact you. The profiles can also be filtered by age and gender. The app is available for iOS and Android devices and is free of charge.
