Find Mac addresses
The Mac addresses are not the familiar Apple computers, but the so-called “Media Access Control” address, which is the physical address of a network interface. This Mac address is used if several devices need to be connected to each other – for example, your Chromescast with the smartments TV.
Find Chromecast Mac address
The Mac address is generally quite simple to find out, but is noted differently depending on the provider. With Chromecast, you can establish the Wi-Fi connection during setup and select “Show Mac address” by clicking on the three-dot menu.
If you have already set up the Chromecast, you can find out the Mac address by opening the Google Home app. Simply select the correct Chromecast, tap on “Settings” and scroll down to “Information”. No more steps are necessary to successfully determine the Chromecast Mac address.
Chromecast is connected to the TV set via HDMI and the video and audio files are transmitted directly via Wi-Fi. If you also want to stream content from your PC or other screens to the TV, you need to download the corresponding app.

If you are lucky, you will find the Mac address of the Apple TV on a sticker on the back of the device. If you can’t find it there, you should switch on the device and open the settings. From the suggested menu items, select “About”, where you will find the Ethernet ID and the Wireless ID. These are already the respective Mac addresses for LAN and WLAN.
